or at least, what a bat shit crazy like jill stanek thinks a real man is…i shouldn’t give her any attention…i am sure that is what she wants…i used to read her blog to try to see how the “other side” looks at this, and try to understand why they feel that way. now i try to avoid her blog b/c it is full of hate and bile, but this feministe post about a recent blog of hers really pissed me off…and thank-you to them for posting this. i won’t quote all of the individual points…please read the feministe post b/c it is all there, including stanek deeming mr. brooks a “pro-life” movie. she apparently also thinks the godfather series teaches a lesson in family values.
aside from the utter ridiculousness that is saying a serial killer who wants to control his family is redeemed by his supposed “pro-life” statement, and that a fictional italian mob boss who slaps his wife for getting an abortion “loves her and is fighting for his family”, i would like to point to her own words and the comments for a look at the scary minds that take up this “noble” side…
on her post about the godfather:
“That spontaneous slap was the reaction of a real man who a woman had just told she aborted his baby. Compare that to the modern day cowardly male response, “It’s your choice. Whatever you decide, I’ll support you.” Or worse, his threat to abandon her if she does not abort.”
when confronted w/ how horrible it is to condone violence against women, jill stanek had this to say:
“I appreciate your thought and respectfully disagree. If a man has just been told a woman has killed his child, I do not fault him for responding with a slap. I can’t think of anything that would more qualify for righteous indignation.”
right, b/c a real man would certainly know when it’s time to put a bitch in her place, especially when it comes to things that happen inside her own body! i can see how it would take a coward to support the woman he loves in her choice and understand that he isn’t the one having to sacrifice his body to a glorified parasite for the better part of a year!
you will forgive me if i say what a self righteous hateful ass hat this woman is.
“She killed his baby! What’s worse? The baby killer, or the woman beater?”
i bet you can guess which one the poster of this comment chose…that’s right! and she told a story about a friend of hers:
“I sounds like what my friend Bob did to his ex wife. They were still married at the time of this incident. He explained that he and his wife were fighting. The fight escalated, and she turned around and yell
ed “Well, I was pregnant, but I took care of it.” “I went and had the little bastard sucked out of me.” *gasp* I asked him what he did. He replied “I slapped the sh*t out of her.””
i guess it’s a good thing “bob” is a “real man” who knows how to handle his business…
i am really confused about something here…so, it’s ok to beat a woman if she has done something you disagree w/? a good example of a family man is someone who will kill his own brother for getting in his way, and loves his wife w/ the back of his hand? in what twisted world are these “good” examples of men?
now, i haven’t seen mr. brooks or the godfather movies, and i am not “bob” or his (thankfully) ex-wife, so i can not qualify the examples…but i can express how disturbing it is that people who claim to be on the side of life can condone this kind of violence. the comments of these posts of jill stanek’s are filled w/ people congratulating her on a job well done and a great portrayal of pro-choice, noble, real men. these people seriously fucking scare me. apparently you are only a real man if you can control every aspect of the women in your life…and if you can’t, it’s nothing a good slap can’t fix.
that’ll show ‘er!
yeah, and we pro-choicers are the sick evil ones…
