*sigh*

dear DNC,

i am saddened as a new convert and a first time (w/ the exception of my awesome congressman bart stupak) democratic voter by your actions in Michigan.

a state wants to matter in this jacked up little process you call the primaries.  the way the system is skewed right now, a handful of pre-selected states determine the overall outcome of the presidential race, and it is a skewed selection at best.  when a state takes steps to try and make their voters count, as we hear all the time that our vote is so important, you punish them, based on what?  some arbitrary rule steeped in some old school bullshit tradition started back when it was an old boy’s club?  there isn’t even a law or statute or anything that justifies the way you have threatened to penalize any hopeful who is on the ballot in the upcoming Michigan primary.

basically, you guys suck.

and i am equally saddened by the candidates who aren’t campaigning in Michigan b/c of your bullying.  the people of Michigan could use some good spirit, and something to look forward to.  they could use a friendly ‘we give a fuck about you’ right now while their economy is suffering and jobs are leaving in truckloads.

meanwhile, back in Michigan, the republicans are running amok and pandering to the conservatives there, and trying to run as a favorite son…all while, you, DNC you are more worried about some stupid rule than you are about this election.  all this will accomplish is alienating not only democrats in Michigan who think they are being ignored, but people who could have been potential voters.

need i remind you that Michigan is a swing state?  and close to Ohio?  remember Ohio?

so when the repubs win Michigan, DNC, you have no one to blame but yourself.

very truly yours,

a registered voter
