tormenting the Queen edition:
yes, RQ, i am a few years YOUNGER than you…but that doesn’t mean i didn’t love great music.
i was the biggest time SP fan. EVER.
even when my über christian bf tried to make me throw away my “blasphemous” CDs. as if.
and i am so glad i hung onto my “aeroplane” box set. now the Hungarian covets it. HA!
oh yeah i am.
so i guess this one goes out to mike, too.
here’s to me not listening to what men want me to do.

i had a huge girl crush on D’Arcy. i always wanted to play the bass.

back in the Jimmy Chamberlain days…

one of the better ones…
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHUd896Sur0&hl=en]
i always wanted to do the roll in an old tire things.

disarm. i just don’t think i have to say anything else.

for the guitar hero monkeys:

and i couldn’t do a Smashing Pumpkins post w/o including my very favorite of all time. for some reason i adore the 2D style of the video, and the “period” or whatever…i know there is some fancy term for it…but wev…i just lurve this one:

also, not Pumpkins, but this one is for Wonder :P

and for my own amusement. if anyone can find a clip from when SB auditioned for Hep Alien, i would be much obliged…

So funny how SP keeps coming up tonight.
I was at lalapalooza when SP headlined with the Beastie Boys. Beasities were up first and got a rip roaring standing O with many encores.
Billy Corrigan came out and before they even played he was throwing a tantrum cause the crowd was more excited to see the Beasties than the SP. Major tantrum, on stage for thousands of people.
oh, i have no delusions that Corgan wasn’t an arrogant fuckwit. he totally was! but damn, i loved their music.
and seriously, who can follow up the Beastie Boys?
Oh the tantrum was a great part of the show, no doubt.
