Thursday Blogwhoring

Lots of good reads this week.

Of course it’s Renee, w/ her post on using physical punishments on children.  Spot fucking on.

And speaking of bloggers who are kicking ass and taking names, Ren is guest blogging at Feministe right now.  She is covering a wide range of Sex Workers rights info, and stirring the pot in a much needed way in the process.  Have a good read, or five.

Ojibway Migisi Bineshii has a post up asking you to tell politicians what women want, and I think it is about time they started listening.

Whatshername had some thoughts on Tropic Thunder.  I saw it too, and haven’t yet formulated how I want to discuss it.  Not being black I don’t feel I can speak as to whether or not someone should be offended and boycott this film.  I do say that the previews don’t give it a fair shake and make it much worse than it really is.  I think some of it was not thought out well, but some of it in context accomplishes what I believe it set out to do.  This is just MHO, and I certainly can not fault those who will not see it b/c of Robert Downy Jr’s character.  I had to see for myself.

And lastly, Zuzu hits a nail squarely on the head.

So, hit me w/ the links!  What wonderful things have you written that I can not live another five seconds w/o reading?

My latest blog is a alllll about sexism and the olympics. http://tobestalks.blogspot.com/2008/08/cnn-examines-sexism-in-olympics.html

It was only supposed to be a sentenced or two and the embeded CNN video and it just… exploded.
