I'm in this club two years now. The thing about it is that it seriously can feel like a literal club. Everyone I knew who had lost a parent offered to talk to me about it, and I took them all up on it, because I wanted to know what it was going to be like. The answers were much darker and much more honest than anything anyone else told me. And I appreciate all the time that they gave it to me straight. I followed from Shapely Prose.

Her mother died years before we met. It doesn't get easier. All I can do is remind her (and y'all) that there is no schedule for mourning. There is no time you should be over it.
